Events - Event View

This will be a 2-player team event.  You can sign up with a partner, or individually.  If you sign up as an individual, we will pair you with another individual to form a team.  Please only sign up if you're willing to play at least 4 games.

The format will be "SWISSHOLIO".  Here's how it works:

Every team will play at least 4 matches, and a lucky few will play more.  Matches are one game to 21, although we may shorten a game or two each round if all others are done, since we have to finish all matches in a round before we can start the next round.

Round 1:  the computer will randomly pair all teams into (up to) 20 matches.  If we have less than 40 teams, there will be less matches.  Note that since we have only 10 courts, you'll be waiting half the time while others are playing.  Pizza, anyone?

Round 2:  the computer will pair those that won in round 1 against another team that won in round 1, and those that lost with another team that lost.

Round 3:  the 2-0 teams will play against each other, as will the 1-1, and the 0-2. 

Round 4:  3-0 teams play each other, 2-1 play each other, 1-2 play each other, and 0-3 play each other. 

Playoff Semifinals:  The top 4 teams (W/L record, then points as the tiebreaker) will then have a single elimination playoff.  1^st will play against 4th, and 2^nd will play against 3rd.  

Grand Finale:  The two teams that won in the semifinals will play one final game for the Championship.
